Product details
You can choose the level of English, Maths and Science depending on your child's ability.
English: The English component aims to excite and motivate parents and students by making learning relevant and supporting parents. Addressing key concerns raised in recent Ofsted reports as well as meeting the needs of the new KS3 National Curriculum, the Student Books are structured around thematic units that cover a variety of forms as well as including unique immersive production based-units. The English has a core focus on engaging students by connecting their skill development, through the theme of the unit, with Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills used in a range of relevant and interesting jobs in the outside world.
Maths: Integers, powers and roots; angles and shapes; probability; fractions, decimals and percentages; equations and formulae; measures; diagrams and graphs; place value and calculation; transformations; solving equations; analysing statistics; calculations; equations and graphs; ratio, proportion and solving problems; constructions; collecting, displaying and analysing data.
If your child is particularly good at Maths, you should choose ‘HIGHER Maths’ from the ‘Maths level’ drop-down below, otherwise choose ‘CORE Maths’. The CORE Maths option covers the year’s syllabus and still offers extension material as a challenge, whilst the HIGHER Maths option works at the level above.
Science: Biology (Health and Lifestyle; Ecosystem Processes; Adaptation and Inheritance); Chemistry (The Periodic Table; Separation Techniques; Metals and Acids; The Earth); Physics (Electricity and Magnetism; Energy; Motion and Pressure).
